Andrews Urban LLC is an Austin, Texas-based urban real estate development
and investment company dedicated to high-rise mixed-use development in the
urban centers of Austin. With development partner Novare Group of Atlanta,
Andrews Urban is currently developing over 1,700 residential homes, 280
hotel rooms, and over 100,000 square feet of urban retail in Downtown and
Northwest Austin. Current developments of Andrews Urban include: 360
Condominiums at 3rd and Nueces Streets; two high-rise mixed-use towers on
the site of the current Downtown Station of the U.S. Postal Service and the
city block to its west; and TWELVE Domain, a high-rise hotel and condominium
tower at The Domain in Northwest Austin.
L. Taylor Andrews, President
Taylor Andrews began his career in real estate in Raleigh-Durham, North
Carolina in 1995 and moved to Austin in 1997 to pursue development in
Downtown Austin. Taylor has been involved as a principal in the development
of land, retail, hotel and residential projects valued at over $350 million.
He has also managed several private real estate investment funds, including
AU Capital, which provides both seed and project level equity for many of Andrews Urban's developments in Austin.
Taylor is on the Board of Directors of the Downtown Austin Alliance and is a member of several local and national real estate organizations, including the Real Estate Council of Austin, the Downtown Austin Neighborhood Association, the Urban Land Institute, and the Congress for the New Urbanism. In 2006, Taylor was named a finalist in the Austin Under 40 Awards in real estate.
Committed to giving back to the community, Taylor serves on the Board of
Directors of Ballet Austin and the Board of Advisors of the Austin Museum of
Art, and he is a supporter of the Austin Fine Arts Alliance, the Austin
Parks Foundation, KLRU-TV, the Long Center for the Performing Arts, the
Austin Public Library Foundation, AIDS Services of Austin, and the Hill
Country Ride for AIDS.
In 1991, Taylor was awarded the Braxton Craven Memorial
Scholarship to attend Duke University, where he graduated cum laude with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995.
Alexander Tynberg, Project Developer
Alex Tynberg manages the development process for all of Andrews Urban's
projects and builds the company's pipeline through strategic complex real
estate transactions.
Prior to joining Andrews Urban in mid-2007, Alex was a Program
Director/Senior Project Manager for the Trust for Public Land (TPL), where
he oversaw program and project management coverage responsibilities for the
northern half of Texas and previously for Southern California for more than
five years. In this role, Alex managed a diverse portfolio of conservation
initiatives and projects, which primarily involved the identification,
negotiation, acquisition and conveyance of critical open space lands and/or
property interests.
Prior to joining TPL, Alex was an attorney in the San Francisco office of
Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold. Alex's law practice comprised both
litigation and transactional work, with a primary focus on complex
litigation in the firm's Environmental Group for matters involving
environmental, natural resources, corporate and real estate law in state and
federal courts.
Alex received a B.A. in Economics from the University of California at
Berkeley in 1992 and a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law in
1998.
